AUSTRALIAN LIONS FOUNDATION

The Australian Lions Foundation provides financial assistance and support to local communities in times of need. The Australian Lions Foundation is amongst the first to offer disaster relief whenever and wherever it should strike. Lions Clubs and the District support the Foundation through fundraising for specific appeals and donations.

The Foundation operates under three separate trust deeds:

  • Trust Deed No.1 - Provides help and assistance in all forms for Public Relief, Emergency Aid and Community Welfare, for persons in Necessitous circumstances in Australia. Deed No.1 is funded by designated Voluntary Gifts from Lions Clubs, Lions Districts and the Public and Interest from Designated Investment Funds.
  • Trust Deed No.2 - Provides help and assistance in all forms for Public Relief, Emergency Aid and Community Welfare Projects anywhere in the world.This is funded by Undesignated Voluntary Gifts from Lions Clubs, Lions Districts and the Public, the ALF Awards Program and Interest from Designated Investment Funds.
  • Trust Deed No.3 ​ - Provides help and assistance in all forms for Public Relief, Emergency Aid and Community Welfare in those developing countries approved by the relevant Minister of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia. It is funded by designated Voluntary Gifts received from Lions Clubs, Lions Districts, the Public and Interest from Designated Investment Funds.

Personal gifts to the Australian Lions Foundation are welcomed, and gifts of $2.00 or more are tax deductible. To see how you may donate visit the ALF Website.

Awards​ - The Australian Lions Foundation offer a number of awards that the District and Lions Clubs may wish to grant. Details of the James D Richardson Honour Award, Ian M Stockdale Humanitarian Award and William R Tresise Fellow Award is available on the ALF awards page.
