ABOUT LIONS DISTRICT 201N1

DG Bill Shepherd - District 201N1

Welcome to Lions District 201N1 which encompasses Collarenebri, Moree, Ashford and Iluka to the North, then down the east coast to twin towns of Forster and Tuncurry, then across to Murrurundi and as far as Collarenebri and Premer in the West.

A Diverse District: From Sweeping Plains to Jewel Seas – Our District motto is no exaggeration.

Our District is very varied from the Northern Rivers, a region known for its Pacific beaches and fertile valleys around rivers like Clarence and Tweed. Marked by a lighthouse and passed by migratory whales, the Cape Byron Headland Reserve near the town of Byron Bay is Australia’s easternmost point.

District 201N1 Map Location

The District also covers the mid to north coast of NSW, beginning at Seal Rocks and extending as far north as Woolgoolga. From south to north, the mid-north coast's main towns include the twin towns of Forster and Tuncurry, Taree, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, South West Rocks, Nambucca Heads, Bellingen and Coffs Harbour. Of these Taree, Armidale, Inverell, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Forster-Tuncurry are the major commercial centres, all with large shopping centres, public facilities and attractions.

These coastal areas are noted for their rainforests, wildlife and waterfalls.

Then moving up to the beautiful New England High Country a region is known for its fine wools and large cattle herds. There is a bounty of treasures just waiting to be discovered in the spectacular and unforgettable area of our District.

Then moving west down from the New England High Country onto the Liverpool and Moree Plains an area that is blessed with some the world's richest black soil, known for its huge fields of sunflowers, sorghum, canola, corn, lucerne, cotton and wheat.

District Pin

We are fortunate to have 62 Lions Clubs, 4 Lioness Clubs and 6 Leo Clubs.

Our members are as diverse as our district. This diversity is the strength of our District allowing for a sharing of ideas and experiences that keep the Lions organisation alive and thriving.

The one thing we have in common is that we are Lions so if you are visiting our District ensure that you talk to a Lion, Lioness or Leo from one of our Clubs and you will be made feel welcome.
