District Governor

The District Governor is elected at each annual Convention for the ensuing Lions year. The District Governor is the Chief Executive Officer of the District and has an important role of being the conduit between Lions Clubs International, Lions Australia and the individual District Clubs and their members.

1st Vice District Governor

The 1st Vice District Governor is elected at each annual Convention for the ensuing Lions year. The 1st Vice District Governor supports the District Governor and is the Co-ordinator of the Membership & Leadership Team Co-Ordinator - supporting those Cabinet Officers involved in the GMT/GLT portfolios.

2nd Vice District Governor

The 2nd Vice District Governor is elected at each annual Convention for the ensuing Lions year. The 2nd Vice District Governor also supports the District Governor and is the Youth & Marketing Team Co-ordinator - supporting those Cabinet Officers involved in youth and marketing programs.

Immediate Past District Governor

The Immediate Past District Governor is the person who held the District Governor position in the previous Lions year. The Immediate Past District Governor is a member of the District Executive and acts as an advisor to the current District Governor. The Immediate Past District Governor is also the Health & Foundation Team Co-ordinator - supporting those Cabinet Officers involved in the District's Health programs or the various Lions Foundations.

Cabinet Secretary

The Cabinet Secretary is a member of the District Executive and assists the District Governor and Cabinet by undertaking a number of administrative functions including attendance to correspondence, distribution of information to Cabinet Officers and District Clubs that has been received by the District as well as minutes, agenda etc.

Assistant Cabinet Secretary

The Assistant Cabinet Secretary is a member of the District Executive and assists the District Governor and Cabinet Secretary with the collating of Cabinet Officers quarterly reports, preparation and distribution of meeting agenda and preparation of minutes of meetings.

Cabinet Treasurer

The Cabinet Treasurer is a member of the District Executive and is responsible for the preparation of budgets, collection of membership dues and other income, disbursement of funds, maintenance of the District bank account and the preparation of the District's Financial Satatements.

District Global Membership Team Leader

The primary role of the District Global Membership Team Leader is to develop the District's membership growth programme. The District Global Membership Team Leader also promotes the Membership program with the assistance of the Region Chairs - GLT/GMT Team and provides assistance and support to Clubs who may experience membership and/or leadership difficulties.

District Global Leadership Team Leader

The primary role of the Global Leadership Team Leader is to develop a District Training faculty including initiating an annual training program for Cabinet Officers and Clubs (with the assistance of the Region Chairs - GLT/GMT Team). The District Global Leadership Team Leader reviews training manuals and presentation material to ensure consistency across the District as well as developing a District Progression Plan, identifying potential leaders in the District and assisting them in attending suitable training programs.

Zone Chairs

The Zone Chairs maintain regular contact with Clubs within their zone and act as a conduit between the District Governor, Cabinet members and the individual Clubs. The Zone Chairs regularly visit each Club and conduct periodic Zone meetings with Club Presidents & Secretaries. The Zone Chairs also provide direct assistance to Clubs for various administrative matters such as the monthly MMR, activity reports and provide assistance and support to Clubs generally.

District Centennial Co-ordinator

The District Centennial Co-ordinator (2014-2017) supports and encourages activities within the District to mark the 100th anniversary of the formation of Lions Clubs International on 7th June 1917.

Media Relations

The Media Relations Chair responsible for media relations and news releases of District wide matters of importance. The Chair also liaises with Clubs, through their Zone Chairs, in obtaining copies of the Club Bulletins, press releases and subsequent newspaper clippings.

Information Technology

The Information Technology Chair advises and assists in maintaining the District's information technology infrastructure including email accounts and OneDrive. The Information Technology Chair also provides basic support in the use of IT equipment particularly for the District Governor, Cabinet Secretary, Cabinet Treasurer and other Cabinet officers.

Webmaster

The Webmaster is responsible for the maintenance of the District Website - 201n1.lions.org.au. The Webmaster can also assist Clubs in establishing their own OzClubhouse website and providing basic support (although individual Clubs are responsible for maintaining their own websites).

Newsletter Editor

The District Newsletter Editor is responsible for the preparation and distribution of the District Newsletter 6 times each Lions year. The newsletter is an important tool in keeping Lions informed of what has been happening in the District. Clubs may submit articles for inclusion in the newsletters by email to newsletter@lionsdistrict201n1.org.au.

The District Convention 2017 Chair chairs the Convention Committee for the District Convention to be held in Inverell in October 2017. This position oversees the planning, finance, promotion and conduct of the Convention.

Mens Shed Liaison and Convention Flag Set

In the role of Mens Shed Liaison, the Chair establishes and maintains channels of communication and direct liaison with Men’s Shed authorities and arranges for these authorities to be fully briefed on the roles, functions, abilities and capabilities of Lions Clubs.

​In the role of Convention Flag Set, the Chair ensures the District's set of Lions and International Flags in maintained in good order and properly stored for presentation and display at the District Convention and on other suitable occasions.

Necrology and Welfare

The Necrology & Welfare Chair advises all Cabinet officers and District Clubs details relating to the welfare or passing of Lions members, partners or family contacts. The Necrology & Welfare chair also maintains a register of deceased Lions and liaises with the Convention Chair regarding the Rememberance Ceremony to be held as part of each District Convention.
