Message from the Convention Chairman

The District Convention is approaching very quickly, and arrangements are well under way for this year’s Convention.

Located in beautiful Nambucca Valley area where you will see the most picturesque and relaxing scenery on the Australian Coast!

The Convention Committee consists of Lions from Urunga, Nambucca Heads, Macksville and Lionesses from Pacific City Lioness Club. Bellingen and Bowraville are assisting behind the scenes to ensure all is in readiness for your enjoyment and comfort.

The RSL Club is the primary venue for the Convention, boasting magnificent views of the Nambucca River and surrounds.

Nambucca Heads has many wonderful walking areas for a casual stroll or run, beaches second to none and a charming CBD and outer areas to cater for all with cafes’, bakeries, shops for those who “need” to have some retail therapy, clubs, pubs and accommodation to suit all, from campers, vanners to B & B’s and motels.

The Convention begins on Friday 18th October with Golf and Bowls in Urunga (just 15-minute drive North of Nambucca Heads). These “events” are for all. Golfers need to bring their clubs, but Urunga Bowling Club have offered to supply those who don’t have bowls with some for the day. A great way to start a weekend of fun and fellowship. This will allow all Lions, Lionesses and Leos to participate including the Cabinet Officers.

Registration will be open from 9.00am on Friday in the “Down Under Bar”, 2nd floor of the RSL Club.

The Meet and Greet will be held at the Nambucca Heads RSL Club on Friday evening. This will be a casual night.

Saturday lunch at the Nambucca Bowls Club will be hosted by the Pacific Lioness Club.  The exhibition booth attendees will be well catered for at the RSL Club to be on hand to showcase their Projects or Foundations.

The DG’s Banquet will also be held at the RSL Club on Saturday night. A “Colourful & Classy” night of great food, fellowship and entertainment.

Sunday - Key Member and first Conventioneers Recognition Breakfast. This is for everyone who wishes to attend and to hear a great guest speaker Lion Lori Sheehan at the Island Golf Club Nambucca Heads, a 7:00 am start.

After the closing ceremony Macksville and Nambucca Heads Lions Clubs will host the farewell lunch at Bellwood Park. If the weather is unseemly it will be at the RSL Club with the same hosts.
